INFORMATION:
As with many things in life, the earliest known reference to a "honeymoon" occurs in the Bible. Deuteronomy 24:5 states: "When a man is newlywed, he need not go out on a military expedition, nor shall any public duty be imposed on him. He shall be exempt for one year for the sake of his family; to bring joy to the wife he has married."
While the word "honeymoon" isn't actually stated, the implication is clear - once married, people should take some time to enjoy their new relationship status and all the duties that go along with it. It is interesting to note that in the case of the Bible, the honeymoon phase of a marriage lasts for an entire year! More recent sociological studies indicate that the period of sweet bliss post-marriage lasts for a lot less time, one month. (One sweet, blissful month followed, as any married couple can tell you, by a lifetime of struggle!)
Thankfully, the sweet bliss to be found in a cup of tea is something that time can never diminish. At any stage of life, a freshly brewed cup of tea has the ability to lift us out of the malaise of day-to-day life, restore our spirits to honeymoon-like levels and fix any challenges we might face. (As the old saying goes, "A cup of tea has the power to solve any of life's problems.)
Speaking of tea, we are gathered here today dearly beloved, to talk about exactly that. Unlike the honeymoons of Biblical or modern times, Honeymoon blend is exactly the tea to reach for when the moment calls for a reminder of just how sweet and pleasant life can be. A sumptuous blend of African, Indian and Chinese black teas, this blend reaches deep with malty notes, flowery highlights and delicate oily wisps. Quite simply, an excellent tea suitable for celebrating life to the fullest. (Whether you?ve gotten hitched or not!)
