Psyllium husk is used to provide natural dietary fibre, mainly soluble fibre, and to reduce the calorie value of goods by replacing starch. Psyllium husk contains about 80% dietary fibre (65-70% soluble, 10-15% insoluble) 

Psyllium Husk is used in a variety of applications including colon cleansing, cereals, baking, candida formulas, etc. Any formula which needs a high amount of soluable dietary fibre usually includes psyllium husk as one of the ingredients. 

As a fibre supplement, Psyllium can be consumed in doses of 5-10 grams, at least once per day. 1 Tablespoon of psyllium husk powder equals approximately 9g. Use about half as much of this powder form as the whole husk form. It is important to take it with plenty of water and then drink water regularly throughout the day. Start slowly and gradually increase dosage as needed.
